The continuing story of my life

Just another guy who spends too much time indulging in his love of the outdoors by mountainbiking, skiing, and tramping as much as he can.

Hooker Valley Walk

This was a nice little stroll up the Hooker Valley across a number of swing bridges
At the end of the valley the glacier melts into a lake with ice bergs floating in it. The clouds covered the top of Mount Cook in the background

Sealey Tarns, Mount Cook National Park

As you can see once we climbed to Sealey Tarns there was plenty of snow around and the water was frozen!
At the bottom of the track there was an appropriate warning which most of the tourists ignored!

Red Tarns, Mount Cook National Park

We climbed to the Red Tarn above Mount Cook Village. The views towards Mount Cook were fantastic as you can see. It was worth the early and somewhat chilly start to the morning.
