Waterfalls

We saw plenty of waterfalls on our holiday. Huka Falls at the outlet of Lake Taupo and also Motu Falls between Whakatane and Gisborne

White Island

The Chance to see another active volcano so close after completing the Tongariro Crossing was too good to miss. We travelled across the Bay of Plenty to visit White Island and see the sulphur and the fumeroles and steam! On the way back, a pod of dolphins swam with the boat for ten minutes

Tongariro Crossing

We went up north for our summer holidays and of course had to complete the Tongariro Crossing. A long days walk between two volcanos. The views were spectular. It was nothing like tramping in the Southern Alps, although the way that the weather can change certainly is!
