Mount Somers. A long day walk

The Pinnacles Hut. It is surrounded by bluffs, with the occasional climber on them. Nice looking hut. A few hours walk in from the Staveley end of the track.







Mount Somers is a good days walk up and back. the easier (but still seven hour day) is to wander along to the track towards the Pinnalces Hut then off up the mount on an unmarked route to the top.

1647 Metres above sea level. Quite a days climb. A scattering of snow on the ground. Terrific views of Mount Cook to the south.
